What We Think!

The demands of parenting are great, and Engenious supports parents of all kinds. Parenting begins when the new family member arrives; but that is just the start – the parenting journey is long. At Engenious, we’ve got your back for all of it.

What We Offer for the Start of Your Parenting Journey

To start, Engenious provides 4 weeks of paid leave for all parents of new children: 2 weeks at the birth or adoption of a child and an additional 2 weeks to care for a newborn child within one year of birth. This benefit also covers the placement of a child for adoption or foster care.

Recognizing the physical impacts on birth mothers, we offer Labor & Delivery Leave. Engenious provides an additional 6 weeks of paid time off for birth mothers. Combined with parental leave, that is 10 weeks of paid time off. Parental leave (and labor & delivery leave) is in addition to our flexible time off policy.

Don’t Just Take Our Word For It.

We asked new father and Mechanical Engineer, Eric Hoofman, about his experience with parental leave at Engenious.

Eric had a list of items that he appreciated and why they were valuable to him:

“Having complete faith and trust in our team as they cover for me during my absence”
(reduced worry)

“Was not contacted once during the leave which gave our newborn my undivided attention for any of his needs”
(no interruptions / complete disconnection)

“Every day was able to be fluid, supporting whatever my wife, newborn, and I needed each day”
(no conflicting commitments)

“The team gave me the option to receive project updates or not”
(flexibility to meet my needs)

“Was not rushed to return back to the office, which prevented one spouse from taking extra stress”
(flexibility to meet my needs)

“Our newborn had our full focus, which is extremely important as we are first time parents learning the ropes!”
(no interruptions / complete disconnection)

“I was encouraged by the company to take what I needed, not just what I thought was fair to the team covering me”
(allowed me to be selfish in a safe/supported environment)

From First Announcements to Baby Shower to Birth. Engenious celebrated Eric and Kelly. We are so excited for them and grateful to be part of welcoming their new child to the world!
