Help uncovering clinical insights
Product managers and upstream marketers need fresh perspectives that are trustworthy. We place clinical needs of patients and caregivers at the center of our design process. For this reason, our designers and engineers spend a lot of time in clinic, directly observing clinicians and patients as part of field research. We do the legwork to help product managers understand clinical practice, workflows, jobs to be done, pain points and opportunities. The insights gained from this background helps our clients make more informed decisions and build competitive advantage.
Our human factors and usability engineering team goes beyond surface understanding to get the real voice of the customer and uncover fresh insights.
For years we have cultivated a panel of practicing clinicians who are on-call to provide insights. These clinicians are able to provide confidential input. They aren’t shy to share what’s working and where existing products are letting them down. Our panel of clinicians operate with confidentiality.
Engenious plans and organizes observational field research – in clinic and home healthcare settings. And clinicians are also available to provide 1:1 focused interviews about a product or clinical practice. We can quickly assemble groups of clinicians to participate in focus groups or in-person usability studies. We partner with nearby simulation hospitals who provide a clinically-realistic means to try new products or techniques in a confidential setting. Our team also plans and conducts clinician surveys to efficiently gather then analyze data to help drive new product decisions.
Competitive intelligence gathering
Our clients already know their competitors, but sometimes they benefit from a third party to review without bias. Engenious helps product teams understand what devices have been cleared to market and where new activity is happening.
Our team acquires competitor systems, conducts usability and performance testing, and gets clinician input on what competitors are doing well and where there are gaps. We provide product managers data they need to understand the competitive landscape, threats and opportunities.
Translating intelligence into new opportunities
You need to translate unmet needs into new concepts that find product-market fit. The Engenious Industrial Design team brings fresh innovation to quickly develop game-changing concepts.
Our Design team helps quickly visualize what’s possible, starting with concept sketches, then digital renders and moving quickly into demonstrable prototypes. Built right here in our in-house model shop, these prototypes give clinicians and product teams a hands-on means to provide quick and meaningful feedback.
Our Industrial Design team is backed by one of the largest domestic USA product development engineering teams. This means we create practical concepts that translate to real-world solutions that you can deliver on a worldwide scale.
