Griffin Adams
Griffin has over a decade of experience with electronics design & assembly, test & troubleshooting and embedded software. His combination of Electronics Technology degree and Engineering Physics degree gives him a unique perspective on product design. His motto, “never stop learning,” drives him to stay informed of technology, trends, and advancements not only in electrical engineering but also in related fields of physics and bioengineering. Griffin has designed PCB’s for consumer electronics that include digital signal processors and DDR memory, and medical devices that need rigid-flex PCBs capable of folding into a handheld device.
Jason Andersen
The portion of Jason’s career dedicated to engineering commenced in 2016. He specializes in writing software applications for real-time embedded systems. He has authored a variety of elegant modules for medical devices and consumer electronics. Composing creative solutions to meet high-level requirements are some of his best work. He takes great pride in his coding craftsmanship and continually seeks to expand his knowledge base in effective software solutions and beyond!
Nathan Asinger
Nathan has half a decade of experience bringing systems from concept to production. At Engenious, he is responsible for complex mechanical designs and cross-discipline alignment. Nathan is even known to write a bit of software when it helps bring a proof of concept to life – a modern renaissance man.
Jessica Batchellor
Jessica brings two decades of accounting expertise to Engenious Design as our Accounting Coordinator. At Engenious, she coordinates receiving invoices, preparing accounts payable, generating client invoices, and coordinating monthly account reconciliations. Jessica is also a key person during tax season.
Sarah Batrouny
Sarah Batrouny brings a diverse background in theatrical scene work, 3D printing, and CNC manufacturing to our in-house model shop. With a passion for hands-on craftsmanship, she specializes in creating and perfecting models and prototypes for the devices designed by our team.
Sarah collaborates closely with the Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design teams to ensure every model meets the highest standards of quality and safety. Her wide-ranging experience adds valuable capacity to our skilled model shop.
Colten Becker
Colten Becker is an experienced Test Engineer with a background in hardware and software testing in radar technology. That experience is put to good use on our Test Team, where Colten designs and executes verification and validation testing on our various projects. Colten is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Missouri S&T.
Cody Blades
Cody has nearly half a decade of electronics experience starting from a BS in Electrical Engineering at Oklahoma State University. In his role at Engenious, Cody collaborates with the electrical team to design and document embedded microcontroller systems, high-speed digital, power supply, motor control, and analog circuit systems.
Anne Bowser
A KSU Computer Engineering grad, Anne brings implementation and technical consulting experience to the table. She has a deep interest in technology, improving processes, and collaborating directly with clients. Her role at Engenious Design is Associate Project Manager, an integral part of the project leadership team coordinating a collaborative team of engineering and technical experts designing advanced technology products and medical devices.
Clark Busenitz
Clark Busenitz is a Mechanical Engineer at Engenious Design, bringing almost a decade of experience in product development across multiple industries. With a strong background in rapid prototyping and manufacturable development, Clark is known for his technical expertise and innovative approach to engineering challenges.
Anh Can
Anh Can has an excellent aesthetic and several years of UI/UX design experience. With additional background in graphic design, she brings many attributes to our Industrial Design team.
Anh specializes in creating intuitive and engaging digital experiences, ensuring seamless user interfaces and meaningful user interactions. Anh plays a vital role in both interface design and user experience research at Engenious.
Josh Figge
Josh Figge is an R&D Engineer, a cross-functional repository of project knowledge wearing many hats in the product development process. He specializes in creating detailed documentation and analyzing data.
Josh has his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, emphasis in Biomechanics and Biomaterials, from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
William Floyd
William is an Associate Project Manager with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has a versatile background including machine & welding experience as well as technical & design engineering experience. At Engenious Design, he plans and organizes cross-functional design teams to meet goals of clients and Engenious.
Peter Frey
Peter is an experienced electrical engineer with almost 2 decades designing embedded devices – medical devices and FPGA design. He guides our cross-functional product development team on focusing on output quality, electrical architecture, regulatory compliance, risk management, and navigating the more treacherous technical hurdles. His passion is following a requirements-driven design process to produce a quality product in just a few design iterations. A little extra time at the beginning of a project nailing down architecture and requirements minimizes churn!
Dale Gilbreath
Dale Gilbreath is the Purchasing and Materials Manager at Engenious, bringing over 20 years of experience in production and logistics. As a vital liaison between design engineering teams and suppliers of technical components, Dale plays a key role in supporting medical device research and development, as well as New Product Introduction (NPI). His extensive expertise ensures that the complex logistics of product development run smoothly, making him an invaluable asset to the Engenious team.
Eric Glenn
Eric Glenn has almost 2 decades of systems administration experience. His extensive expertise spans hardware, software, databases, networking, virtualization, and programming, making him an essential asset in maintaining and securing Engenious’s IT infrastructure.
With a deep understanding of systems management and security, Eric plays a key role in supporting our continued growth and ensuring seamless operations across the company.
Jesus Gonzalez-Morales
Jesus is an Associate Systems Test Engineer with a bachelor’s in Biomedical Engineering, and an emphasis on sensors and devices. He works to help the whole team make sure designs are right.
Weston Goodwin
Weston is a Biomedical Engineering graduate from the University of Missouri. As a Project Coordinator, he is a crucial member of our project management team, focused on administering all aspects of important projects; coordinating a collaborative team of engineering and technical experts designing advanced technology products and medical devices.
Connor Gould
Connor Gould is a Build Coordinator at Engenious. Armed with a degree in Biomedical Engineering and a minor in Mathematics, he is a good match for his position. Connor focuses on key build activities including material sourcing, incoming acceptance activities, work instructions and assembly.
Nick Greusel
Nick is a senior member of the mechanical team at Engenious. His work in product design for consumer electronics and medical devices spans more than a decade of leading mechanical development of products from rough concept through mass production. Nick is intrigued by the challenge of taking a product idea/sketch and figuring out how to prototype, test, and manufacture it. His experience traverses a wide variety of uses and environments, including healthcare, wearable technology, outdoor sports, marine, and automotive.

Tanner Griffin is an Electrical Engineer with nearly a decade of experience. His previous experience with power tool brands alongside his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering compliments the Electrical Engineering team at Engenious.
Seth Gunkel
Seth Gunkel joined Engenious as an Associate Software Engineer following his graduation from Johnson County Community College. His skills in C/C++ and C# are solid and a great fit for our embedded systems work. He is joined by a team of experts excited to mentor him in the field of medical devices and high-technology products!
Jen Harvey
As Senior Test Engineer, Jen develops evidence-based testing critical to the proper designs of systems. She brings a love for math and engineering that are great assets as she contributes to design, build and troubleshooting activities in device design.
A graduate from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Jen was the original member of the Systems & Test team at Engenious.
Brian Hatesohl
Brian is an engineering leader with a keen interest in bringing to market new products that improve quality of life. He thrives at the intersection of anatomy, physiology, electronics, and mechanics. A medical device design engineer for over a decade; his product portfolio spans devices for both hospitals and homes. As the Vice President of Engineering at Engenious, he is the leader responsible for the health, growth, and sustainability of all engineering teams. To this role, he brings an experienced, mature, even-keeled, stabilizing influence acting as a companywide resource for managing engineering risks. Brian is responsible for guiding cross-functional design activities, developing engineering leaders, and profitably launching world-class products.
Peter Henne
Peter is an expert in product design. He has two decades of experience in product development and industrial design. He leads the Industrial Design group in empathetic research and ideation, co-located with collaborative in-house engineering partners.
Mason Hoffman
Mason has a degree in electrical engineering technology and a decade of experience in consumer products, infrastructure technology and medical devices. He has gnarly knowledge of arcade machines, which is a personal passion. He considers himself a lifelong enthusiast of technology and electronics, spending time in and out of work troubleshooting, soldering, and experimenting with electronics.

Eric leads the Mechanical Engineering team at Engenious. He has worked in product and equipment design for a decade. His personal emphasis has been on analysis and optimization. In true engineering fashion, Eric enjoys bringing complex engineering ideas to life, utilizing mechanical fundamentals, and crunching numbers along the way! He is proud of his contributions at Engenious Design that go into products that are all about changing lives for the better.
William Hutchinson
William Hutchinson is an Associate Systems Engineer at Engenious, where he plays a key role in coordinating with mechanical, software, electrical, and test engineers, as well as project leadership throughout the product development life cycle.
A recent graduate of the University of Arkansas, William holds a degree in Electrical Engineering with minors in mathematics and computer science. His diverse academic background and collaborative approach make him a vital part of the Engenious team, contributing to the seamless integration of complex systems across various engineering disciplines.
Julien Illo
Julien Illo is a CAD Technician for Engenious Design. A Kansas State Graduate with a Mechanical Engineering Degree, Julien is a go-to person on our mechanical team.
Chris Justice
Chris helps R&D leaders create new medical devices and new high technology systems. With a background in electrical engineering, he has more than 2 decades of experience in medical devices. Chris co-founded Engenious Design in 2013 after working as VP of R&D for several organizations, including a startup, and also started a medical device company. Chris has worked with 12 of the top 20 med device firms, in addition to startups and mid-sized companies. Chris is adept at building high-performance teams with a sense of urgency and enjoys thinking outside the box.
Holly Justice
Holly is a leader, a designer, and the co-founder of Engenious Design. She has more than 2 decades of experience as a design professional in the visual arts. Her role at Engenious has spanned from hands-on input in elegant design and seamless user interface to more recently focused on stewarding the health and sustainability of the organization. She is committed to a flourishing culture at Engenious and advancing a creative organization that improves peoples’ lives.
Cody Kelemen
Cody Kelemen is a Build Engineer at Engenious Design. With his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering he is integral to our build team. Cody sources components, creates critical documentation and is invaluable in assembly, troubleshooting production issues and getting new designs launched.
Tyler Kodanaz
With a background in Electrical Engineering and a knack for innovation and problem-solving, Tyler leads teams through complex product development challenges. Working as both a technical lead and project manager, he seamlessly blends his technical expertise with strong leadership skills. Tyler brings half a decade of experience to the electrical team and has been integral to success and growth of the projects he’s been involved in and the team as a whole.
Jake Kite
Jake is Marine Corps veteran with nearly a decade of electrical experience. He’s well versed in testing, trouble shooting PCB’s, and prototyping.
Gabe Kortz
Gabe Kortz is an Associate Project Manager at Engenious Design. With a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering and a master’s in advanced manufacturing, he can make it happen. Gabe manages prototype builds for medical device/technology systems, short-run pilot production, and finished device production.
Alex Marshall
Alex Marshall is a Senior Industrial Designer at Engenious Design with a decade and a half of experience in product development. He excels in CAD modeling and concept development and has a proven track record of launching innovative products. Alex’s deep expertise and creative vision bring a significant boost to the Industrial Design team where he continues to shape the future of cutting-edge designs.
Brendan McGeehan
Armed with both a BS and MS in Computer Engineering, Brendan has half a decade of experience in software development. He collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams to develop well-crafted software for embedded systems bringing tricorders and robot surgeons a little closer to reality.
Aaron Molina
Aaron Molina is a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Engenious, bringing 2 decades of experience across the product design lifecycle. He’s an all-around great guy to work with, and also a pro when it comes to all things Mechanical Engineering.
The Engenious Mechanical Engineer is responsible for complex mechanical designs. In his senior role, Aaron applies experience to creatively solve challenging problems, and guides teams by evaluating and selecting design direction.
Earving Morales
As a Software Engineer at Engenious, Earving is highly motivated and a great team-player bringing well-crafted software to important devices. A Computer Engineering graduate from the University of Kansas with Graduate Teaching Assistant credentials, his educational focus included a versatile skill set with involvement in research, teaching and a variety of projects in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
Andrew Mulbrook
Andrew has nearly 2 decades of experience in embedded software. His diverse experience spans multiple industries and includes 15+ languages and a myriad of platforms and software. A true expert in his craft, Andrew also focuses on mentoring the next generation through volunteering with STEM organizations. He collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams creating medical devices and other advanced technology products that make the world a better place.
Joel Murphy
Joel is a hands-on, mechanically-inclined craftsperson who can visualize, sketch out, draft up, fabricate and finish prototypes artfully. He could totally hang with the MythBusters crew or make his way around Tony Stark’s workshop if needed. Joel has more than a decade of experience in his field and is a mix of a process-driven artisan and boutique engineer, with an aesthetic eye to produce high-quality appearance and functional models.
Taylor Muskopf
Taylor contributes a decade of electrical engineering experience to the Engenious Design team. His well-rounded knowledge in both hardware and software makes him a great fit for our diverse group. Taylor’s passion for electronics began in his youth and has seamlessly transitioned into his current role as an end-to-end product designer on our engineering team at Engenious Design.
Cuong Nguyen
Cuong holds the role of Electrical Engineer with a decade of experience in consumer and medical device development. He specializes in analog & digital design with an emphasis on manufacturing quality. Cuong has taken part in medical device design from early concepts to finishing with regulatory tested mass production. He has a passion for improvement and sums up his professional skill development philosophy with the words of late martial artist Bruce Lee: “I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.”

Melissa focuses on all aspects of business operations at Engenious Design. She is a strategic problem solver with a sense of urgency, productivity, and positivity. Melissa’s passion for pursuing innovative solutions pairs well with her 15+ year background in product development and project management. As the Operations Director, she is an instrumental leader and contributing team member focused on coordinating all aspects of Engenious business operations, focusing on the organization’s health and sustainability.

Cody Noecker is a Test Technician at Engenious, bringing over a decade of experience in building test fixtures and conducting critical product tests.

Stephen Nyberg
Stephen has a decade of experience in mechanical engineering complemented by his decade of service as a United States Marine. He is a certified SOLIDWORKS Mechanical Design Professional with a passion for 3D modeling. Stephen has been integral to the conceptualization, design, and testing of a myriad of medical devices and consumer electronics on the mechanical team at Engenious.

Calvin Ochs is a Test Engineer at Engenious, contributing a unique blend of electrical engineering and test engineering experience to the team. As part of Engenious’ robust test team, Calvin is responsible for masterminding, designing, and executing the testing of complex systems, including software, electronics, and mechanical subsystems. Austin Pfannenstiel
Austin Pfannenstiel is a Product Architect at Engenious, specializing in designing medical devices and high-tech systems. With a unique blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and in-clinic experience, Austin excels at leading project teams through creative design and architecture. He is passionate about discovering user needs and identifying the technologies that meet them.
Austin’s diverse background includes a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and an M.B.A. from Kansas State University, where he also served as a Teaching Assistant Professor. He spent seven years as a submarine officer and nuclear power instructor in the U.S. Navy and continues to serve as a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve.
In addition to his work at Engenious, Austin is the founder of Precision Microwave, a medical device startup where he collaborated closely with Engenious as a client. His entrepreneurial spirit and deep industry knowledge make him an invaluable addition to the team.
Kris Pressler
Kris Pressler brings a wealth of experience in hospitality to her role at Engenious. With a background encompassing event coordination, general management, account administration, and guest experience management, she has honed her skills in the industry. Kris excels as Hospitality Coordinator at Engenious Design.
She orchestrates team meetings and lunches, maintains office standards, and prioritizes the well-being of Engenious’s team and clients.
Nicolas Reed
Nicolas has over 2 decades of experience as an Electrical Engineering Technician. At Engenious, he is a central part of the mix with a myriad of technologies related to medical devices and other high-tech products. A hands-on problem solver and trusted team member making a big difference on design projects. As a bonus – the work sounds really cool to family & friends!
Grace Reese
Grace is a committed manager who thrives on projects requiring close attention to detail with a focus on quality results, balanced with her unique ability to understand and appreciate the big picture and end goal. She is a mature, stabilizing, collaborative and forward-thinking leader in the midst of the oft-times ambiguous and change prone nature of product development, responsible for answering: “what’s the plan?” Grace continually seeks improvement, challenging the status quo to improve processes, and better meet client goals. Her experience at Engenious Design includes medical device and other advanced technology product development.
Erin Reinke
A 2021 graduate with an exceptional education, Erin joins Engenious with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State University and a M.S. in Biological Engineering from University of Missouri. In her role as Associate Project Manager, Erin is an integral part of the project leadership team managing and coordinating all aspects of our creative product development projects. She is efficient to the extreme and a natural leader in our challenging, high-paced and innovative environment.
Daniel Rittle
With a degree in biomedical engineering, minor in architecture and hands-on experience as a Perioperative Clinical Engineer, Daniel brings great skills to his role as a Test Technician. Engenious Test Technicians are on the front lines of answering questions like “is this possible?”, “why did this fail?”, and “is this device safe and effective?”.
Dylan Rudolph
Dylan has a love for device design, striving for inner and outer beauty in his electronics, rigorous testing, and stunning documentation. His technical passions include all phases of electrical design, process and design-tool automation, simulation, plotting, visualization, and… writing hefty, well-typeset, user manuals. Despite this, he also enjoys the collaborative nature of product development at Engenious Design. He has an extensive educational background with five years of graduate studies in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering, with some diversions into Computer Science and Mathematics.
Patrick Sanchez
Patrick Sanchez is an Embedded Software Engineer at Engenious. He has a Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering and nearly 5 years of industry experience. Patrick has written firmware, excels at motor control, and is an asset to the Engenious Software Team.
Mason Schellenberg
Mason has a background in biomedical engineering and a proclivity to be hands-on with medical devices; diving deep into how they work. He has a Masters Degree in Biological Engineering and holds a patent for a novel method of 3D printing. He provided technical guidance on new N95 respirator designs for use within the hospital system early on in the COVID crisis. Mason is a Systems Engineer at Engenious Design.
Jacob Springer
With a degree in Organizational Management and work experience managing a 160-member team, Jacob brings dynamic energy as an Engagement Coordinator at Engenious Design. In this role, he is responsible to organize authentic and winsome interactions with potential clients, potential team members and the Engenious team.
Andrew Son
With a Computer Engineering degree and a half decade of industry experience, Andrew brings fresh skills to the team at Engenious. His work on embedded systems can be seen in both medical device and other advanced technology products. In his spare time, Andrew has been seen at game jams and has worked on Microsoft HoloLens.
David Steele
David has a BS in electronics engineering technology and a passion for problem-solving. In his role at Engenious, he is part of our secret recipe to rapidly create advanced systems using ultra-fine pitch surface mount electronics assemblies in an electronics lab at Engenious with the most advanced tools available. David’s experience spans a decade and includes a wide variety of industries – automotive, military, marine, aviation, medical, consumer, and hobby industries.
Will Steinlage
Will Steinlage is an Associate Electrical Engineer at Engenious, he joined the Engenious team full-time following an immersive, hands-on internship with the Engenious electrical team. A graduate of Kansas State University, He credits the hands-on experience and mentorship at Engenious for significantly boosting his skills in both independent learning and team-based problem-solving.
Zouhair Talbi
Zouhair is a collaborative designer with almost a decade of experience in designing and developing products, including medical devices, from idea to production. His education includes a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and M.S. in Bioengineering (with a focus in Biomedical Product Design & Development). Zouhair is moved by developing products that have a meaningful impact and help people in their daily lives.
Jimmy Townsend
Jimmy has worked in embedded software for nearly two decades. He excels in quickly picking up new projects and contributing immediately. Jimmy has worked with startups and established companies, small and large multi-disciplinary teams, novel turnkey, and industry established products. He has broad technical exposure from bare-metal hardware to Android 8, rapid development consumer devices to class III medical devices, and everything in between. Jimmy has checked the list! More importantly, he focuses on doing the right things for the right reasons. As a primary contributor to 62304 based software, he excels at quality procedures with an emphasis on creating outputs that are compliant in a minimally burdensome way.
Nathan Vahrenberg
Nathan has nearly a decade of experience as a software engineer. He brings experience in the medical device and data industry, making him uniquely suited for his current backend software role. His expertise is especially helpful in the cloud and cybersecurity spaces.
Nathan Viehmann
Nathan is a Software Group Lead at Engenious with almost a decade of experience as a Software Engineer. In his role at Engenious, Nathan takes science fiction and makes it reality; bringing well-crafted software to a variety of medical devices and high technology systems.
Patrick Walter
Patrick is a Software Group Lead at Engenious Design, an active contributor to projects as well as a leader and mentor to others. With an educational background in computer engineering and a professional background in medical device maintenance, Patrick brings both an understanding of the end-user and an eagerness to solve their problems through technical innovation. He has experience designing and developing embedded software, designing and prototyping PCB’s and managing offshore development teams. Patrick learns quickly and thrives on contributing to solutions that enable his teammates to succeed. He is quick to identify inefficiencies and likes to work on integrating systemic change to overcome them.

Jonathan is a tour de force Senior Mechanical Engineer at Engenious. A transatlantic transplant with 10+ years of experience in medical device design; he is motivated by making things better and more efficient.
Abby Wilms
Starting with a foundation in Biomedical Engineering, Abby has over a decade of experience in medical devices and product development. As the Project Management Group Lead, she leads the Engenious project management team and directs cross-functional teams in design and development of electromechanical medical device products. An expert in product requirements to IEC 60601-1, compliance testing and manufacturing of complex devices, she is a solid technical leader and mature, stabilizing presence at Engenious!
Ryan Zumbach
Ryan is a versatile industrial designer who fuses high tech development with end-user needs to help create medical devices that make the world a better place. His work thrives at the intersection of design, engineering, and entrepreneurial thinking – making him an excellent creative partner to pursue the next big idea. Ryan applies human factors principles and systematic field study techniques that yield actionable data and observations. This research is then brought to life through exceptional visualization skills. His sketching, product rendering, and modeling abilities help inspire teammates and clients to imagine a better future.
Laura Hatesohl
Laura is a registered nurse who graduated with her Bachelor of Science in nursing in 2010 from the University of Kansas. Her early career experience as a travel nurse gave her a breadth of experience in medical-surgical and telemetry in hospitals ranging in size from 20-bed critical access hospitals to 700 bed academic medical centers all over the United States. Laura is currently working full time as a pre-op/PACU nurse in Kansas City. With this breadth of experience and professional relationships across the country, Laura is uniquely qualified to provide feedback on devices and facilitate connections for Engenious Design with specialized health care professionals who advise on our product development.
